Express yourself throught art

Participating schools invite 9 of their students requiring additional support to join a program for one school term. The program is run by a teacher at the school, and is most often the art teacher in conjunction with the school support person.
Students are required to produce a piece of art that expresses how they get through difficult times. This can be a drawing, painting, photo or sculpture.
At the end of the term the students work becomes part of the LifeScope Art Exhibition where their work is displayed and listed alongside other artists.
This program helps the student to identify a challenge in their life and identify the tools that they may use to help them get through it.

Past Adult Support Programs

Individual Skill Development – Mentoring and Peer Support.

Long term unemployed

  • Assisting people to achieve work, study and personal goals

The LifeScope Mentoring program required a 2hr catch-up once a week for 6 weeks and assisted people in areas such as:
   Finance & Budgeting
   Time Management
   Health and well-being
   Relationships and communication
   Career and personal goals
The Mentoring Program was a flexible model that could be modified to suit individual circumstances, requirements and goals.
The LifeScope Mentoring helped people achieve their work, study or personal goals by:
   Defining clear goals
   Identifying current strengths
Focus on support and development that will help overcome barriers
Overview how things are tracking in relation to achieving these goals
   Providing feedback
Some outcomes for individuals were:
   Greater self-esteem and confidence
   Clearer goals
   Improved self-care
   Better control over finances
   Greater resilience
   Improved communication and social skills
Better able to achieve study/work or personal goals

Hands on Projects

LifeScope Hands on Projects developed originally from our long-term unemployed program. Participants in the program not only had one-on-one support in an office environment with a mentor, they also had the opportunity to be involved in one of our hands on projects that operated as a real business within the community. This support helped participants engage in a work environment to develop their communication skills, self-esteem, time management, business ethics and hands on task skills.
